On Friday, January 30, the Taiwan–Japan Disaster Risk Reduction Conference in Kaohsiung 2026 was held in Kaohsiung, co-hosted by the Japan–Taiwan Exchange Association and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

The event aimed to share Japan’s and Taiwan’s experiences and technologies in the field of disaster prevention and to apply this knowledge to strengthen disaster countermeasures in both regions. Participants primarily included local governments and companies from southern Taiwan, such as Kaohsiung and Tainan.

During the conference, representatives from Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, Sendai City, and Kumamoto City, as well as Taiwanese researchers and companies, presented their initiatives to enhance disaster resilience.

In addition, two BOSAI-TECH member companies— Sola.com Cybernetics Technologies and Snowlion Inc.—gave presentations showcasing their disaster-prevention solution technologies. This provided an opportunity to introduce BOSAI-TECH and the efforts of its member companies to attendees in Taiwan.

This conference further strengthened the ties between Japan and Taiwan in advancing disaster risk reduction and resilience.
