BOSAI-TECH Open Innovation Challenge in Japan

Led by Sendai City and Fukushima Prefecture, this challenge is a part of RBC (Regional Business Conference) project, in order to inspire innovation in the BOSAI industry(disaster relief and prevention-related industry) and support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, which ultimately could contribute to reducing global disaster risks, too.

Sendai City has been promoting social innovation in disaster relief and prevention-related industry under the “Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030”, one of the world’s major policy agendas and specified in the target of SDGs; as Fukushima prefecture has prepared the latest robotic test field that can help simulating disaster sites and the usage environment of infrastructure.
